WHAT WE EXPECT FROM THIS POSITION...
- Ensure that the restaurant is still fully set up, clean and safe at end of every shift, and all the late customers get correct standard of service in a comfortable environment, the same as at the beginning of the shift
- To have a complete understanding of all restaurant service functions and responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring all staff’s appearance and grooming complies with the company standards
- Greet regular guests and VIPs and own all guest touchpoints in their experience to ensure they’ve had a flawless experience
- Own and handle customer feedback and complaints with impartiality and honesty, in keeping along with company policy
- To identify regular guests and important clientele, encouraging all staff to do the same
- Undergo any training for further assisting stock control issues and management
- Complete the cash up and ensure that all the figures’ balance, if not inform senior managers
- Actively participate in the service during the shift: greeting, serving, chatting, farewell etc.
- Keep in touch with the reception desk in order to oversee any problems and to be prepared to resolve them for example: warning kitchen about a large inflow of guests; making preparations to create space in the bar; ensuring the stocks are sufficient for service; ensure that staff are well prepared and energized
- To support new recruits through on-the–job training and their overall onboarding process
- Offering individual, constructive feedback, or targeting areas for general retraining as appropriate
- To observe training and personal developments of team members, communicating weekly with respective leaders
- Ensuring all basic training is completed and assessed as specified, for example Basic Food safety and Hygiene
- Closely monitor trainees during the service and actively teach them as they work
- Distribute the waiter’s slips as appropriate, check the blocking sheet to identify all regulars and VIP customers Prepare and hold the briefing to communicate with all the staff
- Manage the shift’s as required, for example arranging the breaks for the staff and to ensure a proper hand over to ensure a smooth-running operation for the guest experience
