The Biodiversity Experts will be responsible for managing and overseeing all biodiversity-related aspects of the Project. The role involves ensuring compliance with biodiversity related plans prepared for the Project, conducting ecological monitoring as per the Biodiversity Management Plan (BMP) if or when needed during construction works, and implementing mitigation measures to protect the identified endemic species and other biodiversity values within the Project Area.

• Should be familiar and have at least 5-10 + years of experience with Applicable Standards of the Project.

• Implement, and monitor the Biodiversity Management Plan (BMP), Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP), and Biodiversity Offset Management Plan (BOMP).

• Ensure all biodiversity-related activities comply with national and international standards, including IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles IV.

• Conduct regular ecological surveys to monitor the presence and health of flora and fauna within the Project area.

• Identify and document any changes in biodiversity, particularly focusing on the endemic plant species and key habitats.

• Implement the mitigation measures to minimize the impact of Project activities on biodiversity.

• Develop and oversee habitat restoration and species conservation programs as needed.

• Engage with local communities, environmental organizations, and other stakeholders to communicate biodiversity management strategies and gather feedback.

• Provide training and awareness programs for Project personnel and contractors/subcontractors on biodiversity conservation practices.

• Prepare detailed reports on biodiversity monitoring and management activities.

• Maintain comprehensive records of all biodiversity-related data, including survey results, mitigation measures, and compliance documentation.

• Ensure the Project adheres to all relevant regulations and standards on biodiversity.

• Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with biodiversity management plans and legal requirements.

• Reporting all biodiversity management activities carried out to the EPC Contractor’s E&S Manager on weekly basis and agreed format.
