JOB SUMMARY

At Someka we create digital products and ready-to-use Excel spreadsheet templates for business and personal needs for global markets. We are now looking for a web developer to join our local team at Izmir office to work on our website development/improvement and IT related jobs. We are looking forward to receiving applications from professionals who are especially familiar with WordPress and have experience with both frontend and backend technologies.

RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Website Development (Frontend/Backend): Applying development requests to our existing WordPress website. Building UI/UX designs with both plugins and custom frontend code (HTML/CSS/Js). Writing custom PHP functions and developing page templates when necessary.
• Technical Maintenance: Taking care of hosting management and communication (Premium Managed WP Hosting). Applying site updates, making image optimizations, creating and managing the staging environment.
• Publish & Admin Jobs: Making admin input from time to time (upload new products to the website, publish new blog posts, editing product pages, etc.) Supporting the content team with necessary technical knowledge. 
• Q&A Testing / Analytics: Making user tests, finding and fixing bugs. Managing dev/analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Hotjar, Google Search Console, etc. Applying custom javascript solutions using Goole Tag Manager to meet the requests from the growth team.

REQUIREMENTS

• BS or MS degree from reputable universities (Computer Sciences or related fields).
• Having at least 3+ years of WordPress development experience, including custom themes, plugins and integrations. Good know-how of WordPress best practices for long-term solutions.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming patterns, PHP programming, JS programming, MySql.
• Comfortable working with front-end development technologies (HTML5, CSS3, responsive web design, etc.) and able to apply UI/UX best practices.
• General know-how about web technologies/tools such as Git, Regex, CDN management, APIs, Tag Manager, Google Analytics and so on. A basic understanding of SEO fundamentals is a plus.
• Very good command of English language.
