Merchandising & Production Coordinator – Knitted Garments

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on professional to manage customer orders and coordinate knitted garment production from initial enquiry through to shipment.

The role will focus primarily on our Uzbekistan business, with additional production follow-up and coordination in Turkey.Frequent travel between Turkey and Uzbekistan, as well as travel to European countries when required, is an essential part of this position.

The successful candidate will independently handle the complete merchandising and operational follow-up of orders. This position does not have a dedicated merchandiser or assistant reporting to it, so we are looking for someone who enjoys taking responsibility and personally carrying out the daily work.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete order process, from customer enquiries, costing, and product development through to shipment coordination

• Coordinate sampling, collection development, customer approvals, and bulk production follow-up

• Maintain clear and regular communication with international customers and suppliers

• Prepare cost calculations and price quotations in coordination with management

• Follow up on fabrics, dyeing, trims, and accessories with production partners

• Plan and monitor production schedules, approval deadlines, and delivery timelines

• Maintain accurate order records, status reports, and follow-up files

• Visit production partners regularly to review progress, coordinate activities, and resolve operational issues

• Identify potential delays or problems proactively and follow through on solutions

• Coordinate shipment readiness and delivery arrangements with relevant partners

• Attend customer and supplier meetings in Turkey, Uzbekistan, and European countries as required

• Keep management informed of order progress and matters requiring decisions

Working Relationships

The person in this role will work closely with management, product development and customer teams, suppliers, and production partners.

They will collaborate with the Production Manager without reporting directly to them while this role takes ownership of merchandising, daily operational coordination, and order execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in knitted garment merchandising and production follow-up

• Proven ability to independently manage orders from development through to shipment

• Strong understanding of knitted garment production, planning, and material sourcing

• Fluent English, both written and spoken

• Willingness and ability to travel frequently between Turkey and Uzbekistan, and to European countries when required

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple orders and priorities

• Proactive, responsible, and detail-oriented approach

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Good command of Excel and experience maintaining order and production follow-up reports

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with overseas production partners, particularly in Uzbekistan

• Experience in garment costing and pricing

• Strong knowledge of knitted fabrics, including jersey, rib, and interlock

• Practical experience in garment quality control, including checking workmanship and measurements, identifying quality issues during factory visits, and supporting follow-up on corrective actions, would be an advantage
