Scope of Work

As Lifeguard, I will fully comprehend the vision of Six Senses to help people reconnect with themselves, others and the world around them and our values of local sensitivity and global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsible and caring, fun and quirky and pioneering wellness.

Duties and Responsibilities

As Lifeguard, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation in the following:

• Maintain continuous surveillance of people in swimming pools, lakes and oceans
• Ensure appropriate headcount of people involved in a watersport on an hourly basis
• Provide safety information to people prior to them indulging in a water sport
• Supervise swimmers to ensure that they are swimming within the safety protocols
• Spot hazards or potential hazards and take measures to prevent accidents
• Control and report unruly behavior and evict individuals not adhering to behavior protocols
• Ensure that water sports such as beach volleyball and surfing is done within the parameters of set rules and regulation
• Perform first aid and CPR according to the demands of adverse situations
• Perform pool chemical checks to ensure safety and hygiene
• Ensure all equipment is well maintained and in safe condition
• Upkeep Six Senses guidelines and standards of service and operation. My performance benchmarks are maintained and exceeded
• Strictly adhere to LQA standards and guest comments

Qualifications

To execute the position of Lifeguard, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year experience in a similar luxury spas and health clubs with proven references in CPR, emergency medical procedures and current certification as a Lifeguard by a recognized source of training.
• Minimum silver lifeguard badge,
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations and skills in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• If required I will pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.
• Fluent in English; I understand that additional languages are preferred.
