Key Responsibilities
• Lead laboratory operations, resources, and personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable testing activities.
• Ensure all laboratory activities are conducted in compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Ensure laboratory testing activities are conducted in accordance with approved procedures, quality plans, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor technological developments, testing methodologies, and laboratory equipment to enhance laboratory performance and capabilities.
• Drive compliance with Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and Laboratory Management System (ISO 17025) requirements.
• Manage laboratory accreditation activities and ensure compliance with ISO 17025 requirements.
• Ensure proper maintenance, calibration and efficient utilization of laboratory equipment.
• Lead internal and external audits, certification processes, and follow-up actions.
• Maintain local and global product certifications and coordinate testing activities at external laboratories in a multinational environment.
• Prepare quality reports, measurement results, and performance data to plant leadership and global quality teams.
• Participate in global quality excellence programs and benchmarking activities
• Coordinate quality-related communications, audits, and certification activities with global stakeholders.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, laboratory effectiveness, and operational performance.
• Monitor and improve key quality performance indicators, including COPQ, PPM, customer complaints, scrap rates, and process capability metrics.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes (8D, CAPA) for recurring quality issues.
• Collaborate with Production, Continuous Improvement, and quality teams to apply statistical process control (SPC) and process capability analysis.
• Coordinate line trials related to new raw materials, new recipes, and process changes.
• Ensure execution of type testing and validation testing for new products, new materials, and recipes.
• Facilitate FMEA activities for new products or projects, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively.
• Evaluate incoming material, production, and laboratory test results, ensuring timely actions in case of non-conformities.
• Coordinate supplier quality issues identified through incoming inspection, production, or customer feedback.
• Facilitate change management processes across the site and ensure effective implementation of quality system requirements.
• Promote Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles within the area of responsibility.
• Support customer complaint investigations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Machine or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Quality Management, Quality Control, and/or Laboratory Management within a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 3 years of people leadership experience, managing quality and/or laboratory teams.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), quality tools, root cause analysis methodologies, and statistical process control techniques.
• Experience with ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation processes, including accreditation audits, method validation, measurement system analysis, and laboratory compliance management, will be considered a strong advantage.
• Experience in operational quality, customer quality, supplier quality, product certification, and audit management.
• Upper-intermediate English communication skills (written and spoken) are essential, as international audits, certification activities, and daily collaboration with global stakeholders are conducted in English.
• Ability to work effectively in a global matrix organization, building strong relationships and maintaining daily communication with Wavin Global teams and other international stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence methodologies.
