R&D Engineer

We are currently looking for a R&D Engineer to join our REAP Battery Factory located in Tuzla-Orhanlı, Istanbul.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering,
• 2-3 years of experience in mechanical design and product development,
• Proficiency in SolidWorks,
• Experience in 3D part and assembly modeling, as well as preparation of technical drawings,
• Knowledge of sheet metal, machining, welding processes, and basic manufacturing methods,
• Familiarity with technical drawing interpretation, dimensioning, and tolerancing principles,
• Knowledge of engineering materials, material selection, and surface treatment processes,
• Ability to evaluate strength, cost, manufacturability, and ease of assembly in mechanical designs,
• Preferably knowledgeable about the mechanical design processes of energy storage systems, battery packs, industrial enclosures, or electromechanical systems,
• Ability to read and understand technical documents in English,
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to teamwork and continuous learning.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Participate in new product development projects, supporting all stages from concept design to prototyping and mass production,
• Design mechanical components and assemblies for battery systems, including 3D models and technical drawings,
• Contribute to design improvements, cost optimization, and manufacturability enhancement activities for existing products,
• Develop mechanical design solutions by considering material properties, tolerances, manufacturing processes, and assembly requirements,
• Support the design of fixtures, jigs, and auxiliary equipment used in production and assembly processes,
• Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical documentation, and engineering change records,
• Participate in prototype manufacturing, assembly, testing, and validation activities, providing technical input for product improvement,
• Collaborate with production, quality, procurement, and supplier teams to resolve technical issues during manufacturing and assembly processes,
• Carry out design activities in compliance with customer requirements, technical specifications, and applicable industry standards.
