R&D and Production Manager

Our company is a leading global developer and manufacturer of technical products, headquartered outside Türkiye. We are seeking an R&D and Production Manager to lead the R&D department and the production projects within its scope at our Türkiye operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the R&D department and production projects within its scope, setting priorities and work plans.
• Managing new product development, prototyping, testing and pilot production, and overseeing the transition to production.
• Preparing, documenting and tracking R&D projects in line with applicable regulatory and reporting requirements; monitoring performance indicators and coordinating with relevant departments during evaluation, audit and improvement processes.
• Identifying material, equipment and staffing needs for projects and planning resources accordingly.
• Coordinating technical aspects of R&D, product development and related production projects with headquarters.
• Ensuring that production and assembly within R&D projects meet technical requirements and quality standards; managing checks, technical documentation and traceability records, and resolving nonconformities with the Quality team.
• Improving production processes, with a focus on reducing assembly times, defects 
• Leading and developing the R&D team, identifying technical training needs and ensuring that technical knowledge received from headquarters is transferred to the team.
• Reporting progress in R&D activities and related production projects, resource needs and issues to management.
• Manage procurement processes and inventory in line with production planning.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of total experience in product development and/or production, including at least 3 years in R&D, product development or R&D project management.
• Able to commute reliably to our workplace in Pendik, Istanbul.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience in managing R&D teams and projects, as well as technical product manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience in product development, prototyping, testing and the transition from pilot to series production.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production documentation.
• Ability to translate material, equipment and workforce requirements into plans for R&D and related production projects.
• Knowledge of production quality control, traceability and the resolution of technical nonconformities.
• Experience in identifying and analysing production problems and implementing process improvements.
• Ability to guide technical teams and transfer technical knowledge.
• Professional working proficiency in English to conduct technical meetings, business discussions and written correspondence.

Preferred experience

• Experience in joint production or technology transfer projects with international teams.
