Quality Control Engineer

We are looking for a Quality Control Engineer to join SIO Automotive and coordinate quality control activities from incoming inspection through to final product inspection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Metallurgical and Materials, Mechatronics Engineering or a related engineering field,

• At least 5 years of experience in quality control within the manufacturing industry,

• Hands-on experience in incoming quality control, quality laboratory, process quality and/or assembly quality control,

• Experience in coordinating quality control teams and managing shop floor activities,

• Preferably experience in the automotive industry or high-volume serial production,

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerances at a good level,

• Ability to effectively use measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers and height gauges,

• Preferably experience with CMM and laboratory measurement systems,

• Knowledge of Control Plans, SPC and MSA,

• Good knowledge of 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa and basic problem-solving methodologies,

• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and Integrated Management System requirements,

• Ability to monitor and analyse quality performance indicators,

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and shop floor coordination skills,

• Proficiency in MS Office applications; experience with ERP systems is preferred,

• Good command of English; knowledge of German is considered an advantage.

Job Description

• Coordinate incoming quality control, quality laboratory, manufacturing quality control and assembly quality control activities,

• Monitor the daily work plans and shop floor organisation of quality control teams,

• Ensure that incoming materials and components are inspected in accordance with technical specifications, drawings, control plans and quality criteria,

• Manage the recording, segregation and blocking of nonconforming materials identified during incoming inspection,

• Ensure that laboratory measurement, testing and analysis activities are carried out in accordance with defined standards and methods,

• Monitor the correct use and calibration status of measurement and testing equipment, as well as laboratory organisation,

• Ensure that first-piece, in-process and other manufacturing quality inspections are performed in accordance with control plans,

• Monitor product and process quality controls on assembly lines,

• Check the compliance of finished products with technical requirements and customer quality expectations,

• Coordinate the segregation, blocking and reassessment of nonconforming products,

• Ensure that necessary shop floor actions are taken promptly in response to critical quality issues,

• Monitor the correct implementation of control plans, quality instructions and inspection standards on the shop floor,

• Analyse quality control results to identify recurring defects and nonconformities,

• Monitor quality indicators related to internal defects, scrap, rework, incoming quality and assembly quality,

• Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities,

• Organise sorting, inspection and verification activities related to customer complaints,

• Carry out quality control preparations for the introduction of new products and processes,

• Support the implementation of IATF 16949 and Integrated Management System requirements in quality control processes,

• Work in coordination with Quality Assurance, Production, Supplier Quality, R&D and Process Engineering teams,

• Regularly report on quality control results and ongoing actions.
