WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


  • Have previous experience as a Chef de Partie - Pastry or Senior Chef de Partie - Pastry in a high-quality kitchen.
  • Possess strong culinary knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Be proactive, efficient, and able to manage your section during busy service periods.
  • Demonstrate a passion for creating exceptional dishes and maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Be familiar with kitchen hygiene and safety regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Work well in a team and communicate effectively under pressure.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM THIS POSITION...


  • Oversee the daily operations of your designated section, ensuring food is prepared to the highest standards.
  • Ensure all dishes are presented in line with Il Gattopardo standards, ensuring consistency in quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef with the preparation and execution of the menu, ensuring all orders are completed on time and to specification.
  • Manage stock levels within your section, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and correctly stored.
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, ensuring they follow proper procedures and maintain high culinary standards.
  • Monitor and maintain health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ensure proper mise en place is prepared in advance of service and that all equipment is maintained and in working order.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring that hygiene standards are met at all times.
  • Take part in menu planning and development, providing input and suggesting new dishes or improvements.
  • Ensure effective communication with other sections of the kitchen to facilitate smooth operations during service.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or kitchen issues to the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
  • Assist in managing kitchen staff schedules to ensure sufficient coverage during busy periods.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining inventory in your section and reporting any shortages or wastage to management.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating best practices and a strong work ethic while encouraging and motivating your team.
